237 of 365 memories....a great day to be alive!

We had a Tuesday off a few weeks ago. It was a BEAUTIFUL day so the kids and I went to the park by our house. Hannah's best bud Chloe was there with her dad and brother. She got to have some girlfriend time and the boys got to play a little football. The trees are all loosing their leaves now, so I'm glad I snapped these when I did! My babies and I had a perfect day!

these 2 are so sweet together. I love watching and listening to them!

what a blessed woman I am!

235 of 365 memories...a little bit at a time.

I remember when "my job" was unloading the dishwasher when I was a teenager. I HATED every minute of EVERY dish. Just like my son does. He has to get up a few minutes earlier every morning to unload it before school. It's been about a year now and I think he is getting the hang of it. In the beginning, I was wearing a hard hat in the kitchen. I never knew what was going to fall from the cabinets when I opened the doors.

This was one of those times where I had to learn to let him do it. I normally go by the motto, if I want something done just do it myself.
But that's not helping ANYONE.
So we learn together.
He how to unload things and not call 911 when a pyrex dish falls on his mommas head,

and me well to let go :)

234 of 365 memories...it's the Great Pumpkin Johnson's!!

Whatever were we watching that was SO interesting (see Alex's excitement :)

it's a MUST every year.
They all know, I don't care if you look at the T.V. or not.
Peanuts cartoons and the holidays, are MY favorite!

for the record, that's my hubby doing his side planks while watching.
If I ever want abs like his, I guess I should put down the loaf of bread and join him on the floor.
Or I'll just enjoy the view :)

I think he was peeking during the great pumpkin part :)

233 of 365 memories...me too daddy!

Hannah has recently started talking about wanting to run. She sees her daddy and Jakob do it and I think that she thinks she is missing in on the action. Or maybe it is that Jakob occasionally gets smoothies after track practice :) HMMM, you be the judge.

Whatever the reason, it makes for some REALLY cute pictures....

getting her number for her Haunted Halloween race

it was SO cold, 35 degrees at about 8 in the morning.
Were hard core!!

look at those smiles while they warm up.
She brings out a certain smile on my husband, that only his baby girl can do!

of course this was a family affair :)

getting a little boost

Brian running his 5K after he ran a mile with Hannah.

Don't worry he makes me sick too :)

taking care of daddy.

me and my iron man

they really do love each other,
even if they annoy the heck out of each other!

she LOVES her shadows!

Do YOU know what I'M talking about?!!

Your honor, I'm pleading insanity. Insanity by the means of a Power Point presentation. That is what I told my husband to tell the judge when he commits me. Or at least I think I told him, maybe I told Lena, or maybe it was one of the people in my head telling ME to say that.

What were we talking about again?

Oh yes, the P word.

I had never done one before, never had a reason to. I've seen both my boys work on them and they always looked so pretty and creative. I was proud of them and patted them on their heads when they were done. All the time thinking, oh that's kid stuff.

Well HELLO kid stuff and welcome to mommas first OFFICIAL college break down.....

It happened on Saturday, early afternoon, and let me tell you it was not pretty. There were clinched fists pounding the table, tears, high pitched animal like screams and that was all just from me trying to pick a background color!

2 days and lots of Kleenex's later, my slides are officially done, my hands are board line numb, I took a huge sigh of relief and then realized I now have to do my outline and cite all my research materials in APA style.

Honey, I know lots of styles but an APA, AIN'T NEVER been one of them. (I'm taking English next semester :)

Slides were sent to the young girl in my group, that has made it known that SHE knows EVERYTHING about ALL this stuff.

God bless honey, I did mine with a rosary around my neck, because at some point I was speaking in tongues (my secret curse word language) and then felt the need to say the Act of Contrition OVER and OVER again.

Who's idea was this whole get an education NOW thing?

Yes, yes, I know MINE...

DAMN IT!!

CLICK CLICK

This morning as I was watching Alex and our neighbors board the bus, I heard this high pitch squealing sound going on behind me. I turned to find my sleep filled eyed daughter smashing her face up against the side windows of our front door. Our dog Iris was licking her as she was doing it. A picture perfect way to start my daughters day. It gets categorized in my rolodex brain as "perfect memory". One that wasn't captured on film, it wasn't life changing it was just a, simple pleasure. Who ever coined the phrase the best things in life are free, was really a simple pleasure kind of person.

The first time you feel your newborn babies breathe on your cheek while they sleep, simple pleasure.
When your child says mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, and you finally realize they are talking to you AGAIN, and you say WHAT do you need and they respond I LOVE YOU, simple pleasure.
When your husband comes back from a business trip and the first thing he does is hold you longer and tighter just to feel you again, simple pleasure.
Having girlfriends that you laugh so hard with that you literally pee your pants and have sore cheeks the next day, simple pleasure.

I have so many perfect memories and simple pleasures and I'm thankful for EVERY last one of them.

What's some of yours??
