Our hotel!!

This was our view from our room, not too shabby!!

If you have seen the Shaq Vitamin Water commercials, you will notice that they are all a throw back to the 40's and 50's. That's what this weekend was based around. The hotel had a really cool, old school charm and the party's were equip with cigar and cigarette girls, sequenced swimmers, with flowered swim hats and old skirt bathing suits. It was just really cool, now the weather, that was another thing. There was nothing COOL about it!!

This is what the hotel's website says about it and it all fit perfectly!

Acclaimed architect Lawrence Murray Dixon designed and built The Raleigh in 1940 with an elegance and Art Deco sophistication that remain just as compelling and alluring some 65 years later. The Raleigh Hotel in South Beach is an acknowledged Miami master work, providing guests with an exceptional beachside retreat. From the landmark building itself, to the legendary pool hailed as America’s most sexy and spectacular, The Raleigh is a true original—a modern classic.

Situated majestically on the oceanfront in the heart of Miami’s South Beach, The Raleigh hotel is a masterpiece of Art Deco grandeur with a thoroughly modern sensibility. Sister hotel to Hollywood’s famed Chateau Marmont and The Mercer in New York, this classic luxury boutique hotel in South Beach has undergone a thoughtful renovation by hotelier AndrĂ© Balazs. A consummate mix of style and understatement, of elegance and comfort, of glamour and warmth, The Raleigh is a jewel amid one of the world’s most lively and energizing cities.
