We cooked the boys fish this week that they caught while we were in Tennessee. At dinner that night we were all talking about our favorite parts of the trip and what we liked the most about that weekend. After dinner Alex said, wasn't that the best fish you ever ate?
Well yes son, it actually was the best fish I have ever eaten.
Why do you think that is, I asked him?
With his 1000 watt smile beaming, because it's our hard work that caught those fish.
lesson of the day, fishing isn't just a sport or another way to spend a lazy day, it's a teenager who doesn't always have a lot to says, self confidence booster also :)
not only did he catch those fish he also helped his daddy clean them and freeze them, the first time he has done all the deeds that comes along with fishing. Lots and lots of reasons those fish tasted SO gosh darn good.

So sweet...well, not the fish part (because I'm not a fisher or even a eater of fish). The pride, the confidence, the 1000 watt smile...so sweet!
I'm not so good at the cleaning part, but the fishing and the eating, I'm a pro!
Your kids are learning so much thanks to you. What great parents.
First off, I have to tell you that I adored the picture of you and your "sweet tea." Too cute!
Oh, and your boys? Hello, catching and cleaning fish at their age? Now that is just down right impressive. The closest my kids have come to the experience are the fish that they see at our butcher. :)
