Yesterday as I tried to get my words together about my son's 13Th birthday, I kept feeling like I was falling short of what I really wanted to say. When I finally got my thoughts together I realized it was sounding a lot like what I said last year on his birthday . Nothing is different about him.
He is still (and I'm sure always will be) an amazing kid.
Even if he wasn't my child, I would think that.
Just in the first 5 minutes of meeting my son, you can tell that he is just a sweet goof ball.
AND GOD DO I LOVE THAT ABOUT HIM!!
Last year I also posted some pictures from those first few days, of Brian and I being new parents.
My how we all have changed :):)
I know that I always seem to be a big crybaby when I talk about my kids (and I usually am :) Yesterday was different though. He had such a GOOD day, I was just very excited for him.
Every time the phone rang he talked and thanked and sounded like.....well...... a young man.
I'm excited about the journey that awaits Alex and Brian and I. I'm sure there will be some sharp turns in the road, but I'm hoping that TOGETHER we will do just fine!!

Happy, Happy Birthday Alex!
He truly is such a sweet kid. Oh, I mean teenager! :)
It's bittersweet, isn't it?
You should be so proud. He's a reflection of good parenting.
Happy Birthday Alex!
Only 3 more years until he drives-- that's the scary part of the teen years!!! When Trace got his license I secretly followed him around for a week-- no lie!!!
Happy Birthday Alex.
