Well Slap My Fanny and Call Me Busy....

Can I just vent for a minute please? It's not complaining its just letting out a little frustration.
I am fully aware that I am the person that signs them up and I am the person that pays the money for my children to do everything their little hearts desire to do.
But now I need to VENT!!

After my glorious week last week, God has decided to remind me today what my life is really all about! KIDS, ACTIVITIES and mouth pieces that have been inside of football pants.....you know there's going to be a story!

Last night I wrote out my list for today. I have to make a list for everything and yes I check it off as the day goes by. I sometimes wonder if I didn't look at my list, would I really forget to get my kids off the bus and feed them? Maybe, I'll do an experiment one day.....I'll let you know.

Monday

3 kids bringing lunch (Monday's aren't usually good buying days)

Alex trombone

Jakob to school early for WBOB (he is on the morning news for his school, yes he is a ROCK STAR!)

me work

after work, bug man 2 - 3 pm

Alex home

Jakob and Hannah home

Alex orthodontist 4:30

Jakob practice 6 (feed Jakob before practice)

Alex practice 7:30 (feed Alex before practice)

Just a typical evening.

Right?

WRONG!!

My bug man informs me that my back yard is infested with ants! He takes me on a tour of my yard to show me all the wonderful colonies that are EVERYWHERE!! I love my bug guy and he really goes above and beyond for me, I was just not in the mood to learn about all of the bushes and trees around my house that need to be trimmed. And about the granules that I will be buying tomorrow and spreading around my back yard.....I DON'T EVEN LIKE MY BACKYARD!!

Alex gets off the bus and informs me he needs modeling clay in 3 specific colors and if he brings it in tomorrow he gets 5 points of extra credit (and momma you always tell me, were all about extra credit). My son then asks me if he can go to Homecoming and if he can ask Schyler to go with him.....AHHHHH. (Yes he is a ROCK STAR also, where do you think Jakob gets it from?)
Can I go back in the yard with the bug man and hear about the ants that have come to take over my land??

It just keeps getting better.....

I next go down to the bus stop and wait for my 2 other children. It will be a crazy afternoon so I want to enjoy the walk back up to our house, where I get to hear about how wonderful (or not) their day has been.....

KEEP DREAMING SISTA!!!!

Hannah steps off first, MOM I have a problem. She shows me her strap to her school bag which is completely ripped off. (This is the school bag that I did not want her to get because I thought it was made poorly and wouldn't last. MAN I AM A GENIUS!!)

As she is showing me her battle wound, here comes my Jakey boy.

MOMMMMM (seriously do they have to say my name as if they are dying at that moment?!)
I have a little problem.....he picks up his shoe and reveals the bottom is completely ripped off. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

OK we can fix this, when dad meets us at Jakob's football practice then I will take Alex and Hannah and get the modeling clay, a school bag and Jakob's shoes (he is not picky about what I pick out), then we will go to Alex's practice....

SOUNDS GOOD.... RIGHT??

Wrong!!

As were driving to the orthodontist my lovely husband text messages me to tell me, not that he loves me and not that I'm the best looking woman in the world (you see where I'm going with this RIGHT?) that he is going to be LATE!!

Late was not the word I wanted to hear at that moment....

But you know what, as I was driving to the orthodontist I started to laugh and I mean a really good belly laugh and man it felt good. I laughed because tomorrow is another day and IT WILL BE OK!

I got everyone where they needed to be. I tapped up Hannah's strap tonight, Jakob will wear his crocs tomorrow and Alex will bring his clay in on Wednesday and get 3 extra points.....

If I look at the glass half full its always better, that or I either drank the other half and completely forgot about it :):)

In the craziness of the evening there were still some highlights.....

As we were leaving to go to the orthodontist Hannah walks by me and slaps my butt and says "lets go little lady were busy!!"

I must explain that I do this to her all the time, she just has never done it to me. I explained to her that it wasn't really a nice thing to do and mommy wouldn't do it anymore (man that was hard to say with a straight face because it really was HILARIOUS when she did it)

Next up as were heading to Football practice Jakob reminds me that his other mouthpiece is in his daddy's car. Well that's OK son because we have the one in the back.

NO mom remember?

remember what son?

That's the one that I hooked on my pants and it fell down inside of my pants and we didn't find it until that evening when I took a bath.

OH yea, how could I forget.

So I did what any mother of a football player in need of a clean mouthpiece would do (NO, I did not spit on it and clean it) I stopped at Chick Fil A and washed it and then asked if I could use a little bit of their disinfectant spray and cleaned it some more. There is no shame in my game, I have bigger fish to fry than some funk on a mouthpiece......

So that was my Monday.

How was YOURS??

It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's A, MOMMA What Is That??

Secret Service and State Trooper
Here they come!
What we thought was the "big guy" but turned out to be the other guy!!

Yesterday right when we got into Tennessee we had traffic. It was at a stand still.

When we first got up to the traffic there was this funny looking plane in the air. We all kind of said "what in the world was that?"

As we were sitting there for the first 5 minutes we realized the other side of the interstate was closed. Then we saw a police man blocking the on ramp. And we also noticed some police people on the over pass behind us. (At one point my husband and I were like, what in God's green earth is going on??)

After about 15 minutes.....

Some people next to us and in front of us got out of their cars to investigate what was going on. One of the policemen came on his loudspeaker and told them to get back in their vechiles and stay in their vechiles!

OK, at this point it was getting freaky.....

Then all of a sudden my brilliant husband says "that was Air Force One....

I said, that was who?

I bet that was Air Force One....

Then it all started to make sense.

Right after that, we saw a Secret Service guy riding in a car with a State Trooper.

Then we saw the motor cade....

After it was all over, we heard on the radio the Vice President had just come to town....

Hannah said well at least if it's not the big guy (apparently my daughter calls the president of the United States the "big guy") it's the other guy!! (She is always looking for the positive side)

Jakob then says, I thought Santa was the "big guy"?

Hannah says oh Yea, well then what is the president? Cause Santa's more than the President!

Then I asked Hannah, Santa is more than what??

Hannah says I don't know, but if he's (Santa) listening I want him to know that he is more than the president!!

SMART GIRL!!

THANKFUL x's infinity!!

I've been trying to get my words together to express to you all, how much I have enjoyed this week off with my kids and how Friday was one of the best days in our families lives.....for some reason, me who is rarely ever at a loss for words, has been completely speechless.
I'm full of wonderful emotions and beautiful thoughts but I can't seem to make my words translate to the glory that I am feeling!

The kids and I (everyone breathe in with me) did not do much of anything this week (now EXHALE, didn't that feel good?)

Lazy mornings, 1 day where we stayed in our PJ's all day, long walks with the dogs, 2 days at the park, movies on the sofa and everyone wrapped up in the big chenille blankets, soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch and dinner and when I thought the week couldn't get any better....here comes Friday.

We went to Chattanooga, Tn. for the day, Ruby Falls, Incline Railway and Rock City was our destination.....

Throughout the day I heard each one of my kids, say more than once, how cool, awesome, nice and fun the day was. Those were all my thoughts as well :) and music to a mommas ears!
It's not the easiest thing to please a 12, 9 and 6 year old all at the same time and let's not forget the 33 and 35 year olds as well.

There were moments during the day when I would look at my kids while they were exploring or noticing "something that was totally cool" and just think to myself I AM THE LUCKIEST WOMAN ALIVE.

I'm a very emotional person, I'm the person who cries when she is happy and sad. When I get REALLY REALLY mad I ...cry, I'm sure I've even cried because I was hungry. (I do have a very special relationship with bread and cheesecake).

So me teary eyed is nothing new.

But on Friday it was just sheer joy and happiness all day.

Grateful for a beautiful day....
Thankful for the time....
Happy that we were all together...

Have I told you all lately how "my god" is a wonderful god??

Just A Little Piece.....

Today as we were leaving Whole Foods, I was telling Brian how we stayed in our "budget" that was set for the day. And how much my coupons and reusing our bags and our Whole Foods box saved us also.

Hannah looked at us and said, its nice to save money but isn't it nicer that we SAVED A TREE!

Man I love that girl....

I'm telling you all, her peace core days and not shaving under her arms is coming!!

Just touching up the roots!!

I've been doing a little bit of remodeling on The Johnson family tales, as you can see. I'm not sure if I'm keeping the background color. It looks different every time I look at it, I'll try again another day!

Besides for the remodeling I also added BlogHer adds to my page. I was so excited when I heard from them, I truly do love their website. They have built a wonderful community of blogging women.

Today when I was on my blog I noticed they have my post about "Hormones" listed as an item to read. I thought that was way cool!!

There is a contest going on right now on:
http://www.blogher.com/share-your-feel-good-meals-and-you-could-win-100-gift-card-kraft

Share Your “Feel Good Meals” and You Could Win a $100 Gift Card from Kraft.

My family's favorite is chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese (with a little something extra) sandwiches!

When you go to post your family's favorite you can see what my little something extra is!!

GOOD LUCK!!

Who says it's too early....

our mantle!
Hannah was very proud of herself, she helped me get all of the leaves turned the right way!
our foyer table and entry way
you can see a little peek of another pumpkin on the dining room table,YEA well that table is FULL of pumpkins! My name is Heidi and I'm addicted to pumpkins!!

I promised Hannah this week we would start putting some of our Halloween / fall stuff out. Your probably thinking isn't it a little early for that and our answer is NO! You do what you want and leave my pumpkins out of this!

I really thought she was going to get tired after the first set of stuff we had to bring up from the storage area in the basement. But not my girl, she helped me get EVERYTHING (have I stressed to you all how much I really love fall) and I do mean EVERYTHING.....lets just say, at one point Hannah said momma, I think we could donate some of this to the kids who don't have a lot of Halloween stuff! HMMMM, I wonder where she has heard about these children before (sometimes what I tell them comes back to bite me in my not so toned behind!)

So as a good mother and as not to be a hypocrite, I did make a pile for Goodwill and were dropping it off today before swim practice :):)

We worked really hard yesterday afternoon and today and we have made some (little) progress around the house. (I'm laughing as I write this because if you guys only knew!!)

What little progress we have made is alright by me, my kids have been having an awesome week, my house smells of cinnamon sticks right now and I have pumpkins out, LIFE IS GOOD!

Another Day At The Park!!

 my monkey child!
she's under that hair, SOMEWHERE!!
Jack and Alex
Emily on the big girl swing!!
FOOTBALL TIME!!

Yesterday afternoon we met Mike and the kids at the park, I think the name is Swift-Cantrell in Kennesaw. The kids all had a good time and the weather was once again BEAUTIFUL!!
That was our first time at that park but it won't be our last!!

Thanks for the invite guys!!
